Welcome to All Dogs Allowed, Inc.!

Welcome!

One of our clients recently told us that other classes they had tried in the area were comparable to a cooking class, where as when they came to All Dogs Allowed, they felt like they learned to be a "real chef!". We thought that summed our training philosophy up quite nicely!

See what fun you can be a part of at All Dogs Allowed!

Here at All Dogs Allowed we want you not just to get results in the moment, but to understand why you got them and how to get them again in the future. Our aim for all clients is to learn how to truly communicate with and teach your dog properly, and to build your understanding of how your dog learns. Did you know that humans and dogs learn almost entirely differently from one another? Have you ever wondered why some of the behaviors you dislike the most in your dog are the ones he or she offers the most often? Have you ever had luck in a training class, simply to find yourself floundering or feeling lost and confused as soon as you tried the techniques on your own or out in public?

No matter where you are in your training, All Dogs Allowed can help you get to the next level of understanding and success with your dog. We train dogs to work well with their handler any where - not just home or the training center - but out in public, during travel, and of course, the arrival of guests or new people at home or in the office. We also teach handlers to get behaviors with and without treats, with distractions, around other dogs and more.

Whatever you are looking for, we hope you can find it here at All Dogs Allowed. From puppy classes, to foundations work for older or rescued dogs, to achieving your AKC Canine Good Citizen award or just finding a place to come and have FUN with your dog, we probably have a class for you.

All dogs are welcome here. We have appropriate facilities to handle reactive dogs, disabled dogs, elderly dogs, teacup and giant breeds, and more. We have worked with many breeds and have no restrictions or prejudices. No matter the size, shape age or temperament, your dog is welcome here... and you are, too.

Thanks for stopping by and we hope to see you soon!

She has trained, cared for and worked with animals for the past thirteen years. Over the course of her career, she has worked with tigers, lemurs, chimpanzees, sharks, exotic birds, crocodiles, anacondas, wallabies, horses, and dogs, to name a few. Elizabeth

Certified Dog Trainer

Melissa

Elizabeth has called North Carolina home since 1999, with a brief adventure in Greenville SC from 2010-11. She now lives in Cary, NC with her long-term boyfriend; her dog, Chief; her cat, Luna; her chinchilla, Navi; and a tropical fish tank. She is an animal lover but her passion is, and always will be, dogs. A dog has always been a member of Elizabeth's family, and growing up she knew she wanted to work with them in some way or other. Her interest in dog behavior began while on a road trip to the NC mountains in 2007 when she found two ten week old puppies on the side of the road, covered in parasites and extremely malnourished. Chief has been by her side ever since. Being her first puppy as an adult, Chief began to teach Elizabeth how to understand dog. Through Chief's strengths and weaknesses, Elizabeth expanded her knowledge. Chief simply refuses to stop teaching Elizabeth and so she continues to learn new things daily. Their journey together has given Elizabeth a passion for helping others to learn to communicate with their dog and build a rewarding relationship with them.

Elizabeth graduated from North Carolina State University in 2009 with a Bachelor's Degree in Animal Science. She has worked with dogs through boarding facilities, dog day cares, pet stores and training classes. Elizabeth has also worked with horses, goats, sheep, a miniature donkey, potbelly pigs, chickens, ducks and turkeys while working as a counselor at a farm camp for children. She started teaching dog obedience classes in 2010 and is also a Canine Good Citizen Evaluator through the AKC.

Melissa

She has always had a passion for animals and was instrumental in training her first family dog over 25 years ago. As a graduate of Animal Behavior College, she has spent the last 5 years assisting friends and family members with positive training methods to help build healthy lasting relationships with their dogs.

Melissa specializes in puppy and basic obedience training. She is currently working toward her Association of Professional Dog Trainers (APDT) certification as well as becoming a Canine Good Citizen (CGC) evaluator.

Canine Group Classes

About Our Classes

When pet parents are trying to find the right training class and company for their dog, how do they choose? With so many options out there and so many opinions, picking a trainer or training center can sometimes be overwhelming. Let us help! Listed below is a summary of the training classes we offer at All Dogs Allowed, Inc. We are known for offering fun and interesting classes that cannot be found anywhere else, and for a teaching style that empowers pet parents! Learn how to get the behavior you want out in the world, not just at home in your living room. Our canine club is also set apart from the rest by our welcoming attitude towards all dogs, including reactive dogs that cannot work in a classroom environment, disabled pets, and special needs rescue dogs. All dogs have a place with us, and our flexible demeanor and 13+ years of experience are here to find the best way for each dog to learn and have fun with you at the same time.

Our class schedules are not posted online, as we like to get to know each client first and help them match with the best class for their needs, goals and budget. Also, dates and times vary and the schedule of classes changes too often to keep a current listing on the site. If you see one or more classes below that tweak your interest, please contact us today for more information, including upcoming start dates and easy instructions for registration. We offer classes 6 days a week, morning afternoon and evening, and will strive our hardest to offer each client a class time that works for them. If we do not have a starting date that works well for you, we will try our best to create one.

Class sizes are small so that every one gets personalized attention. Class limits range between 3 and 5 handler/dog teams.

Puppy Starters

When you are first starting off, consider our Puppy Starters class, which has been heralded by our clients as "The Best Puppy Class in the Triangle Region!". This very first class is different from other puppy classes in the area. We teach information, not just commands, and give pet parents the ability to achieve more than sit for a treat inside the classroom. Our techniques enable you to understand not only how to fix a behavior, but why it is happening, and we focus on prevention tactics to start you off on the right paw before problem behaviors even have a chance to arise! Puppy Starters addresses common puppy problems, such as potty training, crate training, nipping, biting, jumping, leash pulling and destructive chewing, as well as beginner and intermediate obedience cues such as sit, down, wait, stay, spin, focus, come when called, drop it, leave it, and more. Puppy parents learn about socialization, grooming, nutrition, and toy shopping (how to find a toy your puppy can't destroy!) - all while learning how to get results with and without treats, in home and out in the world, and having fun and nurturing a life long bond with your new furry baby.

Puppy Starters students can also be tested and rewarded with the AKC Star Puppy program at no extra charge. Please let your instructor know at registration time if you are interested in the Star Puppy award!

Foundations

Did you just adopt a new family dog, or have you been putting off training and your now slightly older pup needs some help learning manners around the house? Or maybe you are interested in being a successful sport or therapy team, but need a stronger foundation and understanding of how to train in order to accomplish your goals.

Foundations is the class for you, and offers more than a typical beginner obedience class. We teach information, not just commands, and give pet parents the ability to achieve more than sit for a treat inside the classroom. We learn how to get a behavior every time we ask for it, and have a calm dog that is under control in any situation and is a joy to be around, whether at home or out in public. Foundations addresses common canine problems, such as potty training, crate training, nipping, biting, jumping, leash pulling and destructive chewing, as well as beginner and intermediate obedience cues such as sit, down, wait, stay, spin, focus, come when called, drop it, leave it, and more. We work on common behaviors such as bolting, counter surfing, overexcitement, fearfulness or nervousness. Pet parents learn about proper socialization, grooming, nutrition, prevention and treatment of separation anxiety, and toy shopping (how to find a toy your dog can't destroy!) - all while learning how to get results with and without treats, in home and out in the world, and having fun and nurturing a life long bond with your best furry friend.

If you are ready to build a strong foundation with your dog, one that will help you accomplish any of your future goals, whether they are just getting along better around the house or becoming a competition agility team, this is the class for you!

Ball Herding

Please contact our sister company, Superior Dog Training, for information on upcoming Ball Herding Classes. Taught by Suzanne Kalafian, owner and head trainer of Superior Dog Training, Ball Herding (also know as Triebball) is a wonderful indoor/outdoor sport for dogs at all training levels. Dogs learn through a set of steps and levels to herd numerous balls of different sizes and shapes into a net at the end of a field. Dogs can enter and test to see what level they will be working at on the first night of class. Ball Herding is a great new way to approach obedience, focus and exercise of the mental and physical varieties. This is a great sport for herding breeds or for dogs who just want something new and fun to do with their pet parents!

Suzanne is single handedly responsible for bringing Ball Herding to the Triangle and is the only certified instructor in the region. Contact her today at suzie@privatedogtraining.com or 919-720-2559 to get started!

Whatever the reason, All Dogs Allowed will strive to meet your specific needs with our 3 options for private training. Private Obedience and Private Activities take place at our training center in Cary - if the drive is not convenient for you or you need observation and assistance at home, we also offer In Home Training to all All Dogs Allowed Clients.
